Since the dawn of Atari, there have been dozens of Spider-Man games, and despite the occasional gem, most developers have struggled to embody what makes the wall crawler work. It isn’t about power fantasy or the rogue’s gallery, it’s about the little things. This a dedicated section for the small number of suits that are specifically tied to and/or unlocked within the main story, and therefore are inherently spoilers for certain plot developments or reveals.

As your friendly neighbourhood, Spider-Men, Miles and Peter Parker have their work cut out as plenty of villains descend on NYC. You’re going to go up against several supervillains during your time as Spider-Man, and maybe you want to know about all bosses that appear in Spider-Man 2.

It finally gives us the chance to jump between playing as either Peter or Miles as the two work together to protect New York City from Kraven, a fierce warrior looking to transform the city into his hunting ground. Their personal lives don’t fare any less stressful–Peter and Miles are both stuck, struggling to figure out what’s next for them. Instead, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 simply has more stuff—a bigger story, more pointless collectibles, sprawling skill trees, and double the Spider-Men. These characters do add a bit more flavour to the world and its largely homogenous population of NPCs you’re clearly not intended to look at too closely. Speaking of boss battles, that’s one area that takes a noticeable step up from our initial tangos with Kingpin, Vulture, and the rest. One of my criticisms of the first in Insomniac’s series was how uninspired many of the showdowns felt, with their quicktime-heavy fights making a light impact. Improvements were made in Miles Morales, but here in the full-fledged sequel, boss battles really come to life.
