If you still need any combat-related trophies try to pair them up with Collectibles, many of them feature enemies. Getting NK88 in the Mysterium Challenges is enough for trophy purposes, no need to get silver or gold. All Collectibles get marked when unfogging the map, except Spider-Bots which are unmarked. But Martin Li is only seen about two times before he and Miles fight, and then he isn’t seen again until he’s redeemed and loses his powers.

You are only allowed to use Web Wings and Wind Tunnels, nothing else (can’t use Web Swings with and can’t speed up with Web Pulls etc). Big Apple Ballers Stadium is found in the south-east corner of the map (south-east corner of Downtown Brooklyn). The bases are the white markers on the floor in the brownish outline. The only villains we get are Kraven, Venom, Sandman, The Lizard, and Mysterio (kind of). They set up The Chameleon and Carnage but they don’t actually do anything. And that’s not even mentioning side characters like Silver Sable who easily could’ve returned in some capacity.

The Life Story suit debuts from the titular Life Story comic run, where Peter and Miles age in real time. Though hotfixes are flying thick and fast as I finish out this review, for me the patches have so far failed to tackle frequent crashes to desktop. I find it difficult to diagnose my experience—while others have seen wide-ranging performance issues, for me the game runs smoothly, until it suddenly doesn’t.

The game expands on their existing traversal and combat abilities, including new web-based gadgets and suits that can be unlocked through progressing in the story. It also introduces the former Spider-Man’s symbiote suit, granting Parker unique abilities from his previous playable appearance. The tasks are often so mundane and repetitive, however, that I did frequently question whether these small, congratulatory nuggets were worth the slog they too often turned out to be.

All of this contributes to fighting back against crime in each district of New York, a city now twice the size of what we’ve seen before including the leafy residential roads of Queens and the bustling borough of Brooklyn. There are 14 unique districts, each with its own set of objectives to complete before you can unlock fast travel to that part of the map. Gliding is especially great for crossing long distances thanks to the numerous wind tunnels that carve their way through New York’s seemingly endless grid of streets flanked by art deco architecture and modern mirror-like skyscrapers. There are also smaller stories at play, though, ones that may seem less important when compared to city-wide chaos, but feel like potential world-enders to those who inhabit it. It’s the best-written story in the series yet (if still a bit cheesy at times), with performances worthy of the script.
