However, these moments in the game are excellent for character building and help build on the amazing character development shown throughout the game. Following these brief moments of downtime, Black Cat gives Peter and Harry a lead to a nearby Hunter base and the two of them go to take them down. After months of anticipation, the game is finally set to debut on PC.

Investigating Kraven, Peter discovers he is hunting super-powered individuals in search of an “equal”. Having already killed Scorpion, Vulture, Shocker, and Electro, Kraven attempts to capture Black Cat. However, Miles helps her escape to Paris by using the mystical Wand of Watoomb. At the start of Marvel’s Spider-Man, Peter is 23 years-old and has been defending Marvel’s New York as the Super Hero Spider-Man for eight years, now a seasoned crime-fighter. Peter works as a research assistant for Doctor Otto Octavius, a robotics specialist, who has become something of a father figure for Peter.

For it to count you have to activate these abilities DURING a Symbiote Surge (after the yellow bar in top right is fully charged and you pressed + to activate it). If you use these abilities without enabling Symbiote Charge it won’t count. After the story you will have access to all Collectibles, can still free-roam and do all side content. By going for 100% completion you will automatically reach the maximum level and get enough crafting materials to buy all Suits, Tech Upgrades, Gadgets.

Venom isn’t around long enough either, especially for the impact they act like he had on the city, but it just about made all the waiting worth it. Especially with the added personal connection between Spider-Man and Venom, really highlighting Venom as the dark mirror of Peter. Hopes were high when the teasers at the end of both Spider-Man and Miles Morales teased the arrival of Venom. And, thankfully, it’s the only part of the story they actually did well.

Phin attempts to go through with her plan but this fails as the overloaded reactor almost destroys all of Harlem, and Miles’s mother and his uncle work together to evacuate Harlem. Miles uses that as his chance to talk to Phin, and he convinces her not to go through with it. Ultimately, Phin sacrifices herself to help Miles save the city, by flying him high above the city, so he can release the energy where no one else will be harmed from the explosion besides herself.

This isn’t just a simple character swap mechanic – how you use them is fundamental to how you progress through the game. Suits are the key behind unique abilities in terms of both combat and traversal. The sequel is sure to introduce plenty of new Spidey suits for both Peter and Miles, though another layer of depth could be on the way. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is close, with Insomniac Games currently working on a follow-up to their acclaimed PlayStation title from 2018. While Peter rescues civilians, he is assisted by a super-powered Harry, who learns about Peter’s double life. Of course, a hero is nothing without its villains, and Spider-Man’s rogues gallery is almost unparalleled. Outside of the likes of Venom, Kraven, and Lizard seen in the trailers, Insomniac has kept many more cards hidden up its sleeve. I won’t even hint at any of these except to say that Spider-Man 2 opens with a bang, offering up a sense of scale not previously seen in the series. It’s an adrenaline-fuelled reintroduction to the series that tests how well you remember the combat, as well as providing a few new tricks.

The voice actor and face model for Harry Osborn in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is Graham Phillips.
